@DamienMarieAtHope maybe he was killed because he was an invader!Just joking, it seems he was well adapted to these regions But native European homo sapiens had dark skin and blue eyes, hadn't they?(Oetzi had brown eyes instead)

@DamienMarieAtHopeI think, most people nowadays have no idea of the climate changes the world had, and so no proper imagination of living conditions.Me included.Actually, we just believe that is common, what we ourselves experienced. As from Germany, somehow it took me a long time, to realize, that most humans are not as pale as we are. In my early childhood, the few black persons I encountered, were French soldiers.I just saw them in the streets. In the 1980ies, for the first time, I had a schoolmate, whos father was African American. In the 1990ies, there first time I made friends with some African guys around university. (Not all of them were students)That's why I am still biased. At some times in human history, there must have been similar situations, when people travelled. I think, all that myths about giants and trolls are about the first meetings of African migrants with Neanderthals. (Ok, that's an assumption with no proof right now)@filobus

@wauz @DamienMarieAtHope we're going a little OT, but I too wasn't very much used to black people. They were very rare, and mostly you saw them on TV or cinema. So when immigration started to be more common here from Africa it was like experiencing being in a Starsky & Hutch tv series... Obviously it is a matter of habit, nothing to do (necessarily) with prejudice.Maybe elves where people who lived in the forest hunting and gathering...

@filobusSome findings say, Britains first native people were black. It could be, that those, as hunters/gatherers, avoided contact with later immigrants. That could have led to elves tales. But this is speculative. What I wanted to say: we are 'normal' and others strange. This is the worldwide shared mindset. So, we are biased even in a scientific setting. What, if hunters/gatherers did research on industrial societies?@DamienMarieAtHope
