@otso @dmacphee yes, the Taylor Swift lyrics and this quote, in particular, really have me convinced of the seriousness of the anti-Hotez argument. “Note: I have long suspected (but cannot prove) his actions were part of a public relations campaign because many other things also happened at that time, Hotez used the same phrases in each media appearance (suggesting a PR company made them), and he consistently is invited to speak by major networks despite not being photogenic (the guy is a mess)”

@otso @dmacphee as per usual, a member of an fringe element in society, though admittedly and lamentably, larger than before, you over estimate the number of people who agree with the anti-science, anti-vax (yes, they are the same) movement. It cannot, in anyway, be described as equal to the “populace” of the US. Since 2016. It’s mass propaganda. It’s endless agitprop. Culture wars. Anti elite MAGA-t bs. A loose and direct network of scammers of every ilk, conspiracists, and opaque state and non-state info-operatives. We need to track that and transparently counter it.
