Just look at eurabia, where gas is the equivalent of over 9 dollars a gallon and electricity is two-three times more expensive, most big cities are banning gas cars to force you to ride the bus which is full of wonderful brown people and you get taxed ~40% if you make even minimum wage. @Bad_Banner I think real change will only happen when someone decides to start fresh. I think a lot of potential change falls apart because it tries to hard to build on the past politically. I think it's going to take someone willing to sit down and quite literally write out from scratch their entire political philosophy based on what makes sense and what works. No more "this is left wing, this is right wing, this is American, this is European, etc.." but "This is how a functioning society would work, this is how taxes would be fair, this is what people should be entitled to in pursuit of their prosperity and a good life." It'll take someone way smarter than me and way more patient. I think a lot of us got used to shortcuts and so we plug in a patchwork of previous political ideas into some kind of amalgamation hoping it'll work and it doesn't. Or we think that a minor tweak here or there is all it takes. We need fresh eyes and new takes. The other part of that is recognizing that a lot of people just want to cash in on trends be they politicans or your average talking heads. Whatever form this new ideology or approach takes it should appeal to every person and be left in their hands. Easy to explain and understand. That will keep gatekeepers and grifters away from fucking it up. Who knows we'll probably get some kid from something like Idaho that'll write a book that will catch on and shake shit up.

People can live in the most extreme unhappiness if they find a way to accept it as normal. Bad pay, little money, ill health, terrible accommodations, despair and depression. It's almost surreal how much people will tolerate to not rock the boat. The question becomes what is too much? Another great depression? World war? Famine through another dust bowl? Economic collapse? Eventually something will make it just too unbearable and that's when people will be open to actual change. I suppose the scary part is that it seems that everything which exists today such as social media, entertainment, government is positioned in a way to teach people to tolerate more and more. It's like the mantra of the system is "How can we mold them to never break". I like to hope though that when the time comes and things are truly too terrible some bright up and comer will raise their voice and capture evereyones attention and snap them out of this unending daymare we've come to tolerate for far too long.

@Jim PicRel is an atriculate way of describing the path I've taken. This is no fun. To do otherwise might cripple them momentarily, but there will always be opportunists willing to fill the resulting power vacuum of whatever remains. You also have to remember a lot of the ideas guiding them have deeply permeated our society on all levels. THAT'S what makes it all so tricky: You aren't JUST fighting bad actors, but also having to stop an entire society from continuing to kill themselves out of a collective hysteria.

The reason first world countries have an obesity problem is because the lifestyle allows you to be slothful and overfed. It also means the food we consume is designed for taste before health or efficiency. The two are not something developing nations can afford. You can't afford a sedentary lifestyle because you need to work hard to eat at all. What you do is is likely to be very simple and properly portioned rather than feasting every night because you're bored. If the whole global was rich you'd see the same lack of self control everywhere.But you are right that health and physical education is important. It's not really a zero sum game, we can have both. But I don't think you really require a school in order to be fit and healthy. Most of this should fall on the parents. They should be the ones teaching their kids how to take care of themselves. We see how invasive the school system is with grooming, I don't trust them to teach kids about health. Maybe in a different timeline, but not one where the teachers can't even tell you what the difference between a boy and a girl is.

It's just that he ended his one stream at the end of 2022, "Year of the Chudbud: The Finale", with a piece of advice that has an undertone of staying positive....basically, when our overlords take over, we should laugh at them.Me? Personally? My heart's in the right place, so I have trouble laughing at these things. I've had trouble laughing at degeneracy (for example) becoming more and more rampant in our culture, because I'm reminded of when I was a kid and we didn't have this shit everywhere....Tumblrinas, rainbow-Nazis, pedophiles, zoophiles, those sorts of types. Of course, laughing at these things is way different from calling it out; calling these things out has become so essential in this day and age, and I'm on board with that proposal.
