Nik Collection via Google: excellent!Nik Collection 4 via DxO: good--not happy needing to redoing all my Silver Effects 2 images, though.Nik collection 6 via DxO: crap -- Color Effects 4 conversions have weird crashes and color renders, contrast is wrong, horrible interface, AND I must redo all my Silver Effects 3 images... AGAIN!I'm now trying #monochrome in Luminar Neo because I no longer trust DxO.#LandscapePhotography #photography #bwphotography #BlackAndWhitePhotography #monochrome

When you write Monochrome via #LuminarNeo, are you talking about a specific Preset or something? Or are you focusing on the Develop subset of Edit Tools and their B&W portion?

@bogste I'm doing it from scratch – – no presets. I select the black and white controls and do what I can in it. The rest is using develop, structure, detail, and whatever other controls I can use to work the image as a monochrome.I find that I can get images just as good as Silver Efex Pro, and I don't have to use those funky control points – – I can use real multiple layers. Best of all, I know that my PSD smart objects will open and let me edit them four weeks down the road.

Thanks! I know how useful Manual edits come into play. Using them myself, to not overblow effects of a Photo.BTW, since you mentioned Layers -- I have always wondered about how these work in Luminar Neo. Familiar with their use, back from my days working within Photoshop and/or GIMP but never needed them to date. Do you have any worthwhile Guides regarding Layers use cases at hand and would recommend?

@bogste @bogste Almost didn't see this because you forgot to tag me. Anyway, Anthony Turnham does some nice tutorials on YouTube.Basically, any control can use masks: paint, linear, radial, and AI generated. so, you can use a control to mask stuff, and you can use it again, and again, and again. On top of that, you can create layers which you can blend with the usual Photoshop blend types, and do more masking for each layer blend.https://youtu.be/Hm_I-PgWU7w
