       Before Mastodon, before Twitter, before forums, before AIM and ICQ, before even the Web, there were BBS systems. The FurNet network of BBSes were built on top of FidoNet, and allowed furries all over the United States and Canada to communicate electronically with just a computer and a modem! I was on FVRCVS MAXIMVS myself.
