Resolving these problems would have taken me half a day at least.

       If you're a professional Rails developer, you might balk at this - perhaps you could have resolved this in half an hour on your own.But that's not the point. The point is it would first have taken me 2 hours to read the code and understand what's going on. Then I would have turned to StackOverflow or Google to perhaps discover that the issue is with another gem.I don't do this stuff professionally, but as @simon once aptly said, it makes me more ambitious.
