@rimugu Yes, but you don't have to use your own phone number you can register using any number that can receive an SMS text code. (Landline, VoIP, payphone, etc).

I'd rather see an indicator showing that all Signal-components along a particular message path were bit-identical to official (reproducible) software-builds.After that dreaded phone number is gone.Yes, that's development effort. Why not add acceptable support options (e.g. https://www.paysafecard.com/en/ ) ?
