Since the terrible war started in Ukraine I've been looking for ways to help where ever I can but I feel it's not enoughWould it be an idea that I create an open source web application where people can submit 'war crime evidence' with a 'what, where & who'Maybe it can be used after the war to serve justice for Ukraine somehow..Ofc the real challenge is to 'verify' the content thoughIt's just an idea, let me know what you think

@stux it might be helpful but both marketing and vetting against Russian trolls would be difficult. Even people in Ukraine might be relying on Russian ISPs and it wouldn't take much for Russia to silently take over a small block of IPs belonging to Ukraine to do this.

@stux I think privacy would actually be the biggest concern IMHO#Russia might go after you if the site becomes too prominent

@stux You should try contacting Bellingcat. They are a news organization that use open source investigations to track the war. They would have an idea of what kind of app or service would be useful in collecting and vetting information.

Will follow 😊And I too think it would be better to hook up with something like Bellingcat; there are so many issues that it would be quite the full-time job to take care of them, and might even not be doable. Maybe an assembly point to share all things that have been proven, linking to the sources, would work?@elin @Bellingcat

@stux you’d be as well doing something that helps people mobilise against you-know-who in the US election. The biggest risk to Ukraine’s defence is him winning and withdrawing US support.Or maybe something that shows Russian people the truth about the war?The UN already has enough evidence to put Putin away if he ever makes it to The Hague. In terms of helping people now, not much we can do except keep pro-Putin leaders out of power and donate to charities helping Ukrainians.

@stux you could get in touch with the public prosecution of the The Hague Tribunal to find out what they would need exactly and how the want it presented. I think it is a great idea. It could have its use for other conflicts as well. 👍
