       @lydiaconwell unlike Tw, follows don't really effect visibility afaik. ff is kind of a Tw relic. posts hit the queue mainly when you post to whoever is scrolling at the time. replies seem to requeue them. there is probably a better explanation somewhere. #hashtags will resurface stuff more often

       @m3t00 I disagree. While there are other ways to get to know new people besides following them, not everybody follows hashtags or reads the Local or Federated timelines. Recommendations are still a good idea here, as well as quote posts where applicable.@lydiaconwell
