What do you mean by "effort"? Sounds a lot like a false works salvation when you phrase it that way bro.Romans 4:5But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

@tyler I agree with about faith, but James 2:26 says faith without works is dead. In other words, if you truly believe in Christ we are changed and it shows by our good works.

The book of James is written to the brethren (saved people), not the unbelievers. That verse is in the context of not letting your brothers go without.Romans 4:5 said the opposite of your statement right there.Good morning.
