After 47 years my eyeballs needed some glasses. The sense of relief I feel now is immeasurable. I didn’t realize just how badly I needed them until putting them on and observing the dramatically clearer world around me.

@killyourfm I have used glasses since I was 9. Usually just cheap stuff, whatever mom and later I could afford. Zenni is a blessing for glasses wearers on a budget.This year a friend of mine opened a boutique eyewear shop and he wanted to make me a pair. At cost, to be clear. I never knew how good glasses could be. They're sturdier, stay cleaner longer, more comfortable and provide better coverage for my giant face.All this to say, I hope you enjoy them, and welcome to the club.

@killyourfm Never ignore your eyes. I've been wearing them since Grade 1 though I prefer to wear contact lenses. Though as I get older, the glasses have been used more often. Looks great on you!

@killyourfm Did the same earlier this year, got shortsighted in one eye over the past few years so that everything beyond 2 meters became blurry. As soon as I put on my glasses, the world returned. As an outdoor person, I can’t overemphasize the joy this brought to me. Enjoy your glasses, the true windows to the world for middle aged gents like us 😉

@cdevroe For me things gradually got blurry up close. What i didn't realize is they were also degrading at a distance too. I just didn't notice it that much, or I started compensating and "accepting it" instead of doing something about it.

@killyourfm@layer8.space I get that feeling, I got my first pair of glasses when I was 16, and last year I realized I wasn;t able to play JRPGS on my TV anymore and got a new pair of glasses to wear full time. Never realized how blurry the world was to me for the first 20 years of my life.

@helio I hear you. I think we sort of "compensate" or gradually get accustomed to it, without realizing how bad it's become because it happens in small increments.
