@dave I had to buy a Prius when my Corolla was totaled by a deer thirteen months ago. I really want an electric Corolla, not an ugly SUV. Designers in the auto industry are forcing us to drive around in mobile living rooms, and it’s a shame. I may have to move to Europe to get a small EV.

@dave a surprisingly good article, except for the last sentence: “ I just popped in to a dealer to see its first real EV: the bZ4X. It’s an SUV and ugly in the way all SUVs are. But at least it’s a skateboard. And cheaper than a Tesla.”This is not true in the US - the Tesla Model 3 is less expensive even before subsidies. But there are several reasons no one is buying the bZ4X, having nothing to do with price — and in this context Toyota really is Nokia

@dave For me, the most annoying is that the motor industry wasted so much time and did not invest in researching any alternative to petrol. And now they are making electric cars only because it was succesful for Tesla. I would have loved to see some research in making liquid hidrogen more afordable. To me, that's the best alternative to petrol.
