Poll. Do Trump's lawyers:(I tried to add "all of the above" but either I ran out of options, or I am a 'setting up a poll dork.')

HAHAHA. I stopped reading when the judge signed off. I didn't even notice a footnote that came after.Thank you to @GrammarDominatrix who makes sure to read ALL the footnotes. See the screenshot: "Perplexingly, prematurely, and with the standard pugnacity, Trump . . . "6/

Remember Trump's motion to quash the Georgia grand jury's report, prevent any GA state agency from using the findings, and disqualify the Fani Willis from this case?He lost again. H/t @annabower for the document. First, he tried to bypass the lower court and go straight to the GA Supreme Court, where they said (1) you're not following the correct procedure, which is to start in the lower court and (2) even if you followed the correct procedure, you'd lose.https://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/23891541/2022-ex-000024-ex-parte-order-of-the-judge-1.pdf1/

When the Supreme Court says, "Even if you followed the correct procedures, you'd lose" it's all over because you already know what the Supreme Court will say, so going back and filing in a lower court is a really dumb thing. The usual "delay" mantra doesn't work. Unless he wins, it won't delay anything. But Trump filed again. The judge is Robert McBurney.Anna Bowen says that the decision issued by McBurney is what lawyers in Fulton County call a McBurn😂 .Let's read it together. . .2/

First, he hasn't shown harm (a requirement for this kind of special treatment is that you will be irreparable harmed if the court doesn't grant the motion)Here is a "no you're not special" burn. (Screenshot #1) It's not enough for someone to be the target of a criminal investigation. That doesn't give you standing to challenge it. (No you're not special because you are running for president or a former president.)#2, basically: "If we let you do this, we have to let everyone do this."3/

The court goes on to basically say "This isn't how it is done. If you have an issue about the constitutionality of the grand jury findings, you are supposed to raise it after you are indicted with the court overseeing the case." (I paraphrased).Next the court addresses Trump's desire to quash the grand jury findings. The courts nope. The law doesn't let us do that. You can bring it up later when the time comes. For Trump that will be too late because he'll be indicted by then.4/

The judge doesn't like how much Willis or Trump are talking to the press but this isn't grounds to find that Willis has engaged in the kind of misconduct that can cause her to be removed by the courts.(Notice the little dig at Twitter and X)Yes I know there was a hearing set for August 10. I'll figure what's going after I read this.https://abcnews.go.com/US/judge-orders-hearing-trumps-motion-disqualify-fulton-county/story?id=101815183Maybe there's a clue here . . .Edited: Nope, I don't know. Maybe a GA lawyers knows. I'll let you know when I know.5/

@Teri_Kanefield lol I'm not a big fan of Trump but these sudden indictments piling up out of the blue right before an election are some banana republic shit

@leroc Here are the posts:https://terikanefield.com/frequently-asserted-rage-inducing-simplifications/https://terikanefield.com/all-new-doj-investigation-faqs/ I'm currently writing a longer piece on whether democracy in America can survive. I have my doubts. If you get that far, this is probably the most important:https://terikanefield.com/can-democracy-survive-in-america/

@leroc @Teri_Kanefield must not be a serious article. In there your probably going to tell us he stole a election in 2016 with Russia with zero evidence. Next going to say go vote which means democracy is not “in danger” your own article is void.

@Teri_Kanefield @NEETzsche the fact that in 2020 June the democrats can tell people to riot and rebel. Is not a crime but saying to peaceful march in protest in 2021 is a crime. Doesn’t make sense at all. Free speech and right to assemble.

@lonelyranger @Teri_Kanefield What is and is not a crime depends primarily on who is doing it. Rioting is okay so long as you're doing it in pursuance of the right ends
