Do you think Zoomers are physically smaller? Like not just shorter, but like less bone density. Etc.

@akariposter @Blouie @Cornelius There's a zoomer guy who works at the local grocery store who's tall and has a model face but a skeletal body. I think I'm going to jokingly bring him back to my place and ironically destroy his tender bussy and then unseriously make him workout.

@jill @Cornelius Nutrition would affect growth, but I haven't seen anything to suggest current nutrition availability is any different to what millennials had. As for "vaxx", again I've seen no evidence to suggest that it would affect growth.

@Cornelius @jill Maybe there's something specific in USA that I missed, but again as far as I can tell nothing drastic has changed. People didn't stop eating meat, fruit, drinking cheese, whatever. Maybe people like a certain dish now more than before, but that's not gonna influence things much.

@Cornelius I don't, especially given how agricultural practices have changed. Meat is still fine but a lot of the other things don't seem to be. There's also the subsidized corn, soy, seed oils etc. Common foods you find in grocery stores like loaves of bread now have ingredient lists that look like someone's science experiment compared to what you'd get at a bakery that uses traditional ingredients, but because the grocery store stuff is mass produced, cheaper and more available then it's going to be eaten more.

@Cornelius @jill Hard disagree then. :02_shrug: Also don't mistake your change in diet, or the change in diet of a few people you know, with the whole country. Also, fyi, to have a big effect on growth from a lacking diet, you basically should be going through a starvation, or at least be living under the old Soviet Union.

@gucciloafers @Cornelius For almost all modern produce durability has been chosen over almost all factors. My grudge, that I’m chastised for, is that even at their best most vegetables have dubious nutritional benefit (and fruit not having much beyond vitamin c).

@jill @Cornelius I think people severely overestimate the difference in nutritional value of current agricultural practices vs really old farming. And considering you're talking about hundreds of years, are you comparing zoomer growth with boomer growth? Personally I was strictly comparing directly with millenials. Also, if that's your standard of comparison, then we should be talking about whether millenials have also grown less than boomers.

...interestingly...I was thinking of Millenials too...many generations can be compared/contrasted with the overall decline in health over the years......we now separate our farming and livestock for commercial production vs personal production...

@Cornelius @jill I live in EU. :alexjonesheadscratch: You can say there's a diet change all you want, I just don't see it in all the media your country is putting out. You could complain that people are obsessed with fast food, but that's been the case since millenials were in their growth period. If anything, with current food deliveries, you can actually get healthier food delivered home than before.

@scarlet @jill Yeah diets have changed MASSIVELY. People under 40 won't eat eggs in the morning anymore. Both men and women. They'll have like oatmeal with berries. They drink a lot of soy milk too. Like probably 1/4 guys that age doesn't drink milk. Ever. Always soy or maybe almond milk.

@jill @Cornelius Except for situations where topics get taken over for propaganda purposes, what you get recorded in media is gonna be a decent average of the population. The more mundane the topic, the more likely it is people won't overthink how they should portray the topic and they'll just record what they see around them.

@Cornelius @jill >People under 40 won't eat eggs Growth pretty much ends by 18 years.>They'll have like oatmeal with berries. It has been normal for decades for <18 year olds to eat cereal in the morning. So again, who are we comparing zoomers to exactly? If it's millenials, there simply isn't a massive change in culture between when those two generations grew up. If it's between zoomers and boomers, then you'd need to also find a change in millenial growth. And that just didn't happen.>They drink a lot of soy milk too. Like probably 1/4 guys that age doesn't drink milkHighly doubt. If you have some study or poll on it, I'd like to see it. And again, you need to look at <18 years. And even then, milk is gonna be important for maybe <14 years. Maybe even less.
