Still thinking of getting the M1 Max 64gb ram 2tb Macbook Pro that is heavily discounted at B&H. I've never gotten an apple laptop. Should I get apple care?

I'm really careful with my electronics.

@PhilGastwirth I typically always get Apple Care, even though I’m also very careful. I’ve needed to make a claim maybe 2-3 times in the last 15 years (and last claim was in 2015), but those saved me significantly. It’s also nice to have peace of mind.

@PhilGastwirth @JamesGrosch same. I don’t usually use it but it’s nice to have the peace of mind.

@PhilGastwirth I know the discount on M1s is nice. But with M3s likely to launch later this year you may want to wait.

@PhilGastwirth I always buy AppleCare,Especially now it covers accidental damage. They aren’t cheap to fix and AppleCare gets you express replacement, they’ll send you a replacement before you send yours back

@PhilGastwirth Since accidents can happen, I always get Apple Care on something I buy. Damn shame the local grocery store doesn’t offer it on produce. In all seriousness, I would not skip it.

@PhilGastwirth I consider AppleCare just part of the total cost. So far, I've been lucky with my laptops. But the peace of mind is worth it for me.

@PhilGastwirth yes, think of it as part of the purchase price. Like the extra $25 southwest charges to not be last to board in the middle seat: just part of the fare.
