I'm gonna say something that is probably gonna be unpopular, but I seriously wonder if there is any pure form of government that would work long term. History seems to point to no, and not even because they are bad ideas necessarily, but because we can't seem to ever get rid of greedy psychopaths that have the audacity, and short sighted people who just can't believe they have the audacity, and wait until it's too late to actually do anything about it. I hope I'm wrong.

@RickiTarr If there is a solution, I think it depends on systems to permanently but humanely exclude greedy psychopaths (& abusive ppl in general) from being able to influence society well before they have opportunity to do so, and making the means of exclusion morally acceptable to the vast majority of society including anyone personally close to them.

@RickiTarr Well most of them get caught but then get a slap on the wrist and get to fail upward. Stopping the last part seems key.

@dalias @RickiTarr This person gets it^Example, you would have a lot less of these people in gov/power positions if we went after abuse (animals, domestic etc) hard and early and not the way the law is written (at least where I am) now...

@RickiTarr My hypothesis is that humans need to evolve into a more cooperative species.From the very beginning of our species, archeology has shown we were all about killing each other, even in times of great stress when we needed to cooperate.Unfortunately we appear to be de-volving not evolving.Perhaps the earth is trying to tell us something by trying to kill off humanity, which natures sees as a parasite species.

@The_Icarian We can only go on the past we know, and maybe this is just part of our evolution, a catalyst we need for real change. I still try to have hope either way, but the realist in me is popping out today.

@swordplay @RickiTarr Some people evolve and thnk. Most don't.That's why we are the way we are.Those who search for truth and beauty are preyed upon by those who search for power, dominance and money.Until there are more of the former and less of the latter, this will continue.
