       Hello @hachyderm !I'm moving here from #FLOSS social - I'm a long-time #Linux user (since 1998) and @fedora contributor, and recently became a @debian maintainer as well.$dayjob is at #Meta which unfortunately causes additional friction with the old instance since #Threads launched; they pay me to contribute upstream and basically make Linux distros work better for us and for the community; can't complain there.I'm a #Midwest #USA transplant - originally from #Indonesia #introduction

       @michelin @hachydermHello fellow midwesterner, Linux user and maintainer.If you have any tips on how I can become a @debian maintainer, I'd be most grateful.I submitted several merge requests and repeatedly followed up via email, IRC, and GitLab but the maintainer is MIA and neither the MIA team nor the auth team have responded to me.I've been at it for over a year now and I'm not sure who else there is left to talk to to get this process unstuck. 😢 https://salsa.debian.org/auth-team/pam-u2f/-/merge_requests

I hadn't seen the package salvaging page before, so I'll check that out and make sure I'm using the right terminology when asking. Thanks for the pointers.Who would've thought that the social part would be harder than maintaining a cryptographic authentication library? 😅 😕

       @adam @jvalleroy @hachyderm @debian one thing that confused me at first with Debian is that there is a disconnect between repos and actual builds. Nothing stopping a non-maintainer update to be done *without* the MR being accepted to the official repo (hopefully it is in a publicly available fork though!)
