I was today years old when I noticed that if you highlight text in a received email, and then reply to it, @thunderbird inserts what you highlighted as quoted text. Neat! #NeverStopLearning #TheMoreYouKnow

@killyourfm @thunderbird I found it long ago, and I can understand that it can be useful, but so far I think that every time that it has auto quoted the email that way I had to cancel the draft, unselect the text in the email and hit reply again.

@killyourfm @thunderbird I can see how some might like this feature, but I'm personally annoyed by it. I tend to subconsciously highlight text with my mouse while reading, so when I hit reply I get a quote that often isn't even a full sentence. I was able to disable this feature by setting `mailnews.reply_quoting_selection` to FALSE, so I'm happy with that.

@killyourfm @thunderbird back in the day, this was the only way to include quoted text in AOL mail. The default was to include nothing! Nothing quite like empty replies when doing tech support.
