@stux in a word: yes. Even if he ends up in behind bars, he can still run.There is nothing that says you can't run for POTUS from a jail cell.

@stux you can serve while in prison, so there should be no legal reason why he couldn’t, which is insane to consider. The Republican Party might find themselves forced to run a convicted felon or a candidate embroiled in a legal fight, rather than campaigning. His grip on the GOP voters is certainly such that going for the runner up (DeSantis currently) would be damn near impossible, plus Trump would likely then run as an independent candidate.

@stux he could conceivably assume the presidency from behind bars. I personally believe that is not in USAs interest but that is their way. I'd hate to see what USA devolves into in that event.

@stux Trump will keep trying, since re-election is about the only path he has to avoid accountability for his crimes. I really want to see him convicted of a charge that would preclude him from ever holding office again per Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.
