       I went to the birthday party of a friend in Groningen, so… roadtrip!!! 🚙 Thanks to you lovely Mastodonians ❤️😘 for for ideas for stops, I changed a little due to weather and rental car issues, but this is the result. 👇🏼🧵So first, Drenthe: Borger! A ‘hunebed’. that is a Dutch version of a pyramid. In the old days the Dutch thought they were built by giants.        Then, I drove to Schokland. This is a former island in our former South sea. Since we Dutch try to change all water into land, it is now an island on land. 🤔So, in a way, it is now sort of a ‘terp’, but that description would even make less sense if you are not Dutch.        Last stop, Nature Park Lelystad. 👀 I had no clue that it even existed! You can walk in the (free) park and have a chance of seeing large animals as wisents, large deers, horses, moose, and birds as wild swans and spoonbills. The key word is ‘chance’ as they have all the space to hide. Which, many of them did. 😂 But I saw a few.
