uni radicalized me to the idea that a big pile of well-meaning people simply following the general structure of a traditional* system can create so so much harm and simultaneously wash their hands of any guilt because they're "just working within the system and want to help you as best they can"*read white-supremacist & classist

(aside: if anyone has any book recommendations about alternate systems of teaching, especially from authors working and teaching outside the white-supremacist college system, i'd really appreciate them!)

@ember there's a number of neurologists out there with interesting finds re: pedagogy. Can't think of any, at the moment, as I haven't read them in a few years - but I'll try to keep thinking, and if anything comes to mind, I'll try to bring it here. Barbara Oakley, iirc, had some good things re: learning math, etc, which were consistent with neuro, and went into more general learning things, which I then looked into, more deeply, and found a lot of interesting reading on, a number of years ago
