       The #sunflower giant in the front garden has fully opened so it won’t be getting any taller, last measured at just over 9 feet (2.74 m).  Didn’t quite make it to 10 feet but it’s nothing short of majestic. #SIlentSunday #flowers #BloomScrolling #photography #moon

       @Trilobyter the best part is when the blossoming is over. It will contain sunflowerseeds. Tits will come to pick them out. Difficult for them, and great to watch, as it will hang upside down. They will eat it while sitting on the flower stem.My neighbor has never seen so many tits. "What are they doing in your garden?".Alas the slugs ate the young plants this year.

       @fietsria I have two (shorter) predecessors in the same garden bed with mature flower heads drooped over full of ripened seeds. I plan to harvest some seeds & re-plant but otherwise I will cut the heads off and mount them on our back fence for the birds & squirrels to feast on.  Including tits - just heard a Tufted Titmouse in our backyard this morning.
