Okay #dos and #dosgaming peeps - I could use some help.I've got a Gateway GP6-400 P2 tower running Windows 98. Unfortunately the mobo has an on-board joystick port that I can't seem to find a way to disable, but I want to run my Sound Blaster AWE32 card in this machine. I'm okay with disabling the AWE32 joyport and using the on-board, but I can't figure out how to disable the joyport on this PnP-configured card. I boot dos 6.2, use CTCU to disable it, but then how can I get that configuration to stick in the win98 install?'CTCU' notoriously doesn't run under DOS 7/Win98 DOS. Can I do it with 'UNISOUND' maybe?Anybody good with configuring SB PnP sound cards in Win 98? Boots appreciated.TY

@48kRAM@oldbytes.space i have the full tower version and i recall it having a BIOS option to disable the onboard sound. but, i also recall having updated the bios on a few occasions. it's packed away right now otherwise i'd fire it up and see what versions are being reported, and verify the feature exists ofc.but i'd start there -- updating the bios. terrifying.

@purple yeah - I'm having trouble locating BIOS updates for this system. I've found the names of the files I need but can't find them mirrored anywhere yet

@48kRAM@oldbytes.space again for the record i'm going off decade+ knowledge but i'm VERY SURE disabling the onboard sound stuff was a part of the bios. i distinctly remember having troubles with the built-in card until a bios update, though.
