       @didier @andycarolan I’m on my own instance since I entered fediverse a couple of months ago. Can’t comment on possible downsides. But it is a nice feeling to be on a server you control yourself!

       @anders @andycarolan yeah I want to see how I can tweak moderation better by controlling it locally. Plus it’s like a forever social media account since no one is going to close it on me….

       @didier @andycarolan Yeah, for me it’s the last point that’s central. I’ve self hosted my email on a private domain since late 1990s. When making the decision to give Mastodon a try it was an easy decision to do the same here.
