I'm looking at cheap scopes; having got rid of my dad's old CRT scopes I'm thinking something like the Hantek DSO2C15 - 2ch150MHz/1GS - any thoughts? it feels it should be enough for any fixing of oldish kit or playing with any little dev boards; mind you I don't get much playing with them, but want to get more time on them.

@penguin42 A cheap logic analyzer like fxlafw is much more useful for microcontroller projects and they are only a couple of quid on aliexpress.

@penguin42 seems like any of the cheap scopes would do the job. They all have so many more features than anything more than about 10 years old. Rigol and siglent seem to be the best but they are not the cheapest.

@penguin42 Get a 4-channel scope. Sooner or later, you'll need more than two channels. Like when looking at an SPI connection.

@mansr But for that do you really want a scope or a simple logic analyser as @ali1234 says.

@penguin42 @ali1234 It depends on what you need to do. Sometimes it's useful to see digital and analogue signals together. My (somewhat expensive) scope has 4 analogue and 16 digital channels which tends to cover my needs.
