       @slashdot I wouldn't be inclined to buy a car that would prevent me from using Android Auto. Having the infotainment system provided by the phone app of my choice solves the problem better than most automakers' attempts at it would.

       @slashdot I sure don't. Just how most people use Microsoft Internet Expl... I mean, Edge... to download Firefox or Chrome on their computer, most people use their infotainment system to open Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Why do companies keep thinking they can reinvent the wheel, pun intended? The UI is usually garbage, with cheap functionality easily rivaled by what's on my smartphone. Only people who don't know better will find benefit in what's "stock" on the screen.
