Things never last forever.It was a great ride. The best people that I have worked beside.Projects got big in 2016 and we solidified the team in 2017. It was a great run. But over the next 3 month, the A-Team will be gone.From Los Angeles to NYC, we conquered projects. And our last act in NJ was a better effort than what was put out by our competitors. Its a small world and we will find ourselves on teams again, but we won't all be together again.

@AndrewTheGreat @cgarison Seems to me that businesses are firing a lot of their most experienced workforce in order to bring in new cheaper hires.This is one of the usual signs of a decaying economy.

@AndrewTheGreat @amerika Thank you. And job karma to you. The world of IT has been a strange mistress in the last few months. The A-Team worked for 7 years removing a particular product from companies to install a competing product. Yesterday, in the post A-Team realm, it looks like I will need to perform a business review to write an SOW to install the product I have loved to remove since 2016. 😉.

@amerika @AndrewTheGreat The A-Team was not a young group. I was the youngest member and I am nearing 50 years of age. In 2021, a competitor started raiding our company for resources and got two key members. A year later, 1/3rd of the team departed with a giant retirement package. The coup de grâce came when half our IT group was sold to another firm. One of the A-Team was brought back from that other company as a contractor, but not much else is left.

@amerika The H1-Bs and the NEETs do not have the skill to surgically remove an interface between systems and then replace one of the systems and install a new interface with no loss of functionality and less than one week of impact on the client. We were a precision team that operated with skill. H-1Bs and NEETs are nothing more than blunt instruments that hack the status quo to implement the low cost option that helps nobody.

@cgarison I agree. They do horrible work and then demand constant updates to software that make nothing better. They are basically destroyers of good products.But, generally, corporations follow this pattern: a few inventors make something great, then leave because maintenance is boring, so lesser people come in and wreck it.This is how humanity erases its best work and its own history.

@cgarison @AndrewTheGreat Generally those who make it through a full career have natural talent and interest in the subject, and have accumulated a great deal of knowledge.Companies fire them to "save money" and sabotage the product. It is a management failure, made worse by various government demands like high taxes, legal unions, and affirmative action.
