Since the song says nothing about black people, it seems sanest to not think that he’s talking about black people (although if you view black people as violent, I can see why you might think he was talk about black people).But again the lines that also include first amendment expressions are pretty problematic.

But frankly there’s not enough substance to the song to make the outrage proportionate in any way IMHO. There’s not even an indication that there’s an intent to do more than scare the offending person out of town, so I don’t know exactly how violent #JasonAldean’s intents were with the lyrics.

He's calling out against flag disrespect while standing in front a flag hanging from the point where they lynched Henry Choate.If he's truly unaware of what a sundown town is and what his "this is how we take things into our own hands where I'm from" fits into history then that is far, far scarier.
