FUCKING FINALLY!Getting my lift. I have high ceiling, high lift door, and jack-shaft operator and 220 with garage elec panel.https://www.wildfirelifts.com/copy-of-double-wide-car-liftI will have 2 bridge jacks to get the suspension hanging if needed and a bunch of accessories. 9K model, I will have up to a Yukon Denali 6.2 up there (5600lbs). I figure 9K really means 2250 lbs per corner, so are there guides about this calculation?Local co, but any other brands I should look at? I will be shy of $10k after everything.

Originally I had spec'd a lift that used 220, but this lift is 110 - I presume I just need to change the breaker at the panel and then I can just use a short extension/adapter from that nema-whatever plug to 110, so I can easily go back to 220 if I want?

@bifpowell You may be able to get a 220 to 110 adapter and leave the breakers alone. I can't tell the type of plug you have but your local home improvement store should have something.

@bifpowell there is 120+ and 120- and ground in the box. You should be able to add a 120V outlet by just taking one of the 120v circuits and wire an outlet. https://www.ehow.com/how_8687795_wire-120-240.html

@mhjohnson that would be great, but I feel like an adapter would need some other components in it/attached and not just cable that passes through copper to the right shape? Maybe it never draws enough to matter?

@bifpowell I am only an amateur electrician, take or leave advice. I agree with Sir Vile. And, I would rewire from ceiling box to a proper 110V receptacle rather than use an adapter.

@bifpowell I don't think this is the right one but I was thinking about something like thishttps://www.amazon.com/Rophor-Adapter-Generator-L5-30P-Lighted/dp/B08NXGST3M/Hard to read but that may be a L6-20R outlet - in that case you would need a transformer in line to reduce the voltage from 220 to 110. You don't have the wiring to split the phases like the adapter above.They make a LOT of UK to US travel adapters (I have two of them) but I don't see one with the right kind of plug.

@CattleBaron your karma helped - we had no issues all the way.BUTThis wasn't that crazy of a load and my Denali was definitely up to the job and had no issues, but I would've liked to have had some dualy 350-something and had a lot of capacity left overIn other words, I want a bigger truck :}

@bifpowell Did you ever work out your power situation?I would rewire the breaker and put a 120v cord cap on that drop.Or eliminate the drop and install a receptacle on the ceiling if the machine has a cord long enough…..or one can be installed.The wiring at the panel most likely is using the white wire as L2. It would need to come off of the breaker and be landed on the neutral buss to give you 120v output.
