i suppose the business of paperclip-maximizing your income is a relatively easy position to defend. "whatever helps me win is good." there is really not a lot of contradiction or stressing here--if it results in more CEO bonus it is good.the business of making things slightly more decent is significantly more complicated. it requires, for one, being concerned about what a desirable outcome and an acceptable amount of loss to achieve the outcome is. and thus you get infighting.the CEO mindset does not infight. it knows what it wants--infinite growth--and is completely unburdened by questions like is it really a good idea to put children in coal minds or sell children as products.
