Another day, another overreaction in #CentOS world :(I am glad that people finally start to pay attention to what we do.I wish they listen more to what *we* say we do.Currently people continue to be surprised that CentOS Stream is not what they imagined it to be.And the only thing I can answer is - yes, I told you so.

And to unpack:#CentOS Stream code *is* #RHEL code. Therefore RHEL Engineering owns the decision making for CentOS Stream merge requests. This decision-making happens according to RHEL Engineering policies which are very different from policies of Fedora and may include business, QE and whatever considerations. It doesn't make CentOS Stream less Free and less Open Source. And yes, it is still open for contributions. And if you see my FOSDEM talk, I have it there.

@bookwar I'm a Red Hat engineer, and I thought this was a bad decision with even worse optics. CentOS stream cannot be considered a community project under these circumstances.

@mattb CentOS Stream codebase is not a community project. It is RHEL.CentOS Project is a community project which uses RHEL(=CentOS Stream code) as input.CentOS Project does CentOS SIGs, which use CentOS Stream content to create something for themselves.CentOS Stream distribution (which is separate from CentOS Stream codebase) is owned by CentOS Project too (see the picture in the previous post)CentOS Project is not like Fedora, it is tricky. But that's its purpose.
