       Y’all as we enter the hellish times of the year, please remember if it’s hot for you it’s far hotter for your friends in fur coats who cannot sweat and who walk on the pavement in their bare feet. Right now in North Carolina you really shouldn’t walk your dog after nine am or before seven pm any distance. Of course they should NOT be left in the car. I beg you, please err on the side of caution and keep your friends safe and healthy.

       Also just like humans you need to make sure your friends STAY HYDRATED, an easy way to check is to pinch a fold of their skin, it should slip back from being folded pretty quickly. You can sneak water into them by putting water in their food, giving them multiple types of water bowls in more than one room, and if you’re really worried, you can buy powdered goats milk and water it down a lot as a ‘treat’.  Also just like people their pee should be nearly clear.
