@Owl That is because, there has been a never ending war on, who God is, and what He wants. From the Bible through today.And usually within a generation of someone walking up to the truth, and causing a revival, it is supplanted by teaching people how to behave in a way that brings them approval from Christian Leadership.It is an inevitable consequence of organized Christianity. The truth says, God wants to be your friend and lift you up, even all the way to Heaven, because he loves you. That Jesus has paid your way into this friendship. But, you can't demand money, and service from people with a truth such as that, now can you?So, in every generation, the truth is obfuscated and the words twisted, so that the people who want to know and please God, spend their time and money pleasing the Churches.And, that is 99% of the Christians today. I've been to many local churches in recent months, and certainly none of them deviate from this paradigm.

@Owl Not me. Not yet anyway. Though most of the former SSR members do seem to either be or have been married :D I did spent a lot of time looking in my 20s, when I had a fancy job, But, only the utter dregs of societies women seemed interested. The all time most interested were, a pretty black girl, a 300lbs neet, and a pretty alcoholic attorney... dating was a surreal experience for me.

@Owl @bleedingphoenix I don't hate them or anything, but I think we are all happier in self selective groups with culture based on heritage and race.If I can see and know the light of God in any man's eyes, the color of his skin doesn't matter, and he is my brother, but that doesn't mean he needs to leave his culture/community and join mine. (in any case, it is a far and few between thing, so it doesn't come up often, I only know one such individual personally.)

It can be seen just in the Catholic/Protestant divide. The caths claim that a single obscure verse gives them dominion over who enters heaven or hell. Luther, for all his faults, realized this wasn't so; that the RCC had suppressed the knowledge of scripture, and murdered people who dissented, for over a thousand years. And yet caths will say things like "Well it wouldn't have lasted for so long if God didn't want it to/didn't consider it His church."Or maybe God doesn't intercede like that. Maybe God allowed the children of Adam to reject him for a millennia before He flooded them. Maybe He let the children of Jacob whore with idols for a millennia before he sent them into captivity. Maybe your church is no different.
