If we're doing a series on sex and marriage, it behooves us to also talk about those who feel like they can't have either.Let's start to talk about incels - what they think, what I think about them, and how bad the Church has been in addressing their valid complaints.soundcloud.com/verylutheran/sexmarriage-answering-the-iq-pt1

@SuperLutheran in the most technical sense, i'm a cel, prolly by partially choice and partially not choice, but i don't consider myself one of those guys who bitches about women constantly and thinks it's all on them, i also don't want to be a guy who's trying to get laid as much as possible either, mostly i just hope God's plan for me includes a woman to spend the rest of my life with and raise children with.

Pretty good speech, and certainly anyone should be realistic about a potential wife not 'checking all the boxes'. Won't disagree there- but is it really 'unrealistic' to want a woman at a similar level to you? I work out, I have a decent job, there's certain things I won't compromise on in a partner, her weighing over 200lbs is one. Not sorry. Yes, some women are 'settling'. Settling from 'chad' to a regular guy. It'd be like guys fucking around with supermodels in their 20s and then 'settling' for a regular girl off the street. Not comparable at all to the situation some guys find themselves in, where they're a completely normal guy being forced by circumstance to choose between a woman with a BMI above 30 or dying alone.

@synapsid Oh I certainly believe it's reasonable to have standards within one's own "SMV" if we're using semi economic terms. But there's more I have to say about it, and I didn't have time to talk through all of it today (hence the pt1 bit)

@synapsid @SuperLutheran Bro from the sound of it this hypothetical woman would probably be perfectly willing to do the kind of things that would strip the weight off quick. Making a hard line something that is eminently changeable seems a bit asinine and vain.

I mean if she was making an honest and visible effort I'd be more than open. But how often does that remain when you go from 'hypothetical' to 'reality'?

@synapsid @SuperLutheran I think fairly often if you're smart about it, women hate you need to shape up tubby tube, however frame the 8 mile daily walk as "let's have some nice together time" and do some simple changes to diet and she will probably lose 30lbs in a year without noticing.Ove met like 3 women who were actually OK with being overweight, most just get deeply shamed and defensive when you call them out. That's not super surprising because women generally do not ever respond well to being called out. However if you frame fitness as let's do this together so we have a better relationship, most women I have met are very receptive.
