       After today's #storm in Zagreb I realize #Twitter is irreplaceable for emergency information exchange in my region. There is literally nothing of value on #Fediverse today, or the search thing doesn't work. I need to see what have other parts of my city experienced.This is a legit scenario when mother nature is having a bad day and I need as much information as I can get. Fediverse did not provide that today.#Zagreb

       @darth Who is providing the weather warnings in Zagreb? Are there any official apps that could relay these warnings to the Fediverse? There is an (experimental) Fediverse bot here in Germany already that aggregates most warnings -  I'm getting weather or fire warnings at the same time as from the official emergency apps. https://mstdn.games/@FediNINA_Leipzig@social.prepedia.orgHopefully more providers start relaying emergency and weather warnings to the #Fediverse in more areas.

       @chris @wjmaggos exactly. Fediverse is full of geeks like me and I feel great among all of you. But normal, regular Croats use Twitter and Facebook. There is a chance that they will use Threads so I guess that MAY be good for me once Zuck flips the switch on ActivityPub.

       @wjmaggos @darth Yes, good points. Right now I wouldn't be able to reach or hear any news from people in my area. Leipzig is a city with a population of 600K or 1.1M in the larger area - still the hashtag #leipzig is rarely used 🤔
