"Passengers on board a Delta Air Lines flight to Atlanta on Monday passed out or soiled themselves on the hot plane, as babies screamed and flight attendants ran through the aisles with oxygen tanks, ..."Airline passengers pass out awaiting takeoff in triple-digit temps in Las Vegashttps://www.rawstory.com/delta-air-lines-las-vegas/

@StillIRise1963 They shouldn't have allowed the plane to sit there if they couldn't cool the plane. That is a huge upcoming lawsuit.

@CStamp @StillIRise1963 I am an aviation buff but not an expert. My understanding is that planes can run AC on the ground but that it costs extra fuel.Edit: Apparently the AC and/or the auxiliary power unit on the plane was/were broken. The FAA lets planes with inoperable APU's fly. Let that sink in. More here:https://www.airliners.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1485795&sid=98eae9cc11bb780ffd858fb5be23d922

@brinnbelyea @CStamp @StillIRise1963 they can, but four hours would be a fair bit of fuel, I'd imagine. They should be able to deplane quicker and easier without the implicit threat of being stranded because they "volunteered" to live.

@xinit @brinnbelyea @StillIRise1963 No buts when temps are in the 3 digits F. When people are passing out, being taken off a plane in stretchers, either have enough fuel for a/c or deplane everyone. If they get out of queue, traffic control needs to manage better.

@CStamp @brinnbelyea @StillIRise1963 Likely something like this as the excuse: "We don't have a gate we can park in, so we can't go there for power, and we can't refuel with passengers on board, so..."The problem seems to be systemic and happening more and more. I was on a plane without AC while in flight, and the was horrible... I can't imagine sitting baking in Nevada heat. I would likely be one of the belligerent passengers.

@xinit @brinnbelyea @StillIRise1963 I am old enough to remember when passengers were treated well.
