       "Profitability" is now starting to look like microtransactions for completing homework, expensive courseware to replace pedagogy, and paying for surveillance software during tests.        @Manigarm I don’t ever expect better from companies that continually make new editions of textbooks when the material being taught hasn’t changed.  I use MyOpenMath for any online homework, and free textbooks (e.g., OpenStax).  Of course, I don’t teach online, so I don’t know how people deal with that.
