Fediverse is very silent regarding #Threads and #Meta. Yes, you realized that Threads was not about federation at all? The #fedipact was a storm in a pickle jar.They don't care and I bet not a single of the 100 million forced Instagram sign-ups wants to follow anyone of the few hundred tousand accounts here.That means, the Fediverse is still the Fediverse and we don't have to "fear" about Zuck sucking us up.

@louis I'm in the UK so maybe my Threads interaction was different to those outside of the UK or EU - I don't recall if the app prompted me to install Threads or not. If it did, at least on Android, it would still have to take me to the app store for me to make a decision. Instagram didn't prompt me to create a Threads account however

@louis #Threads implementing ActivityPub will be like climate change.Nothing visible... No big deal... Everything is fine...Until #Meta accumulates enough leverage to define future #ActivityPub protocol changes to fit their own purposes. And the rest of the #fediverse will become AOL or MySpace. Even working in good faith (yeah, right), the 800-lb gorilla eventually owns the enclosure he occupies with the spider monkeys.
