Trying out some #Android #Mastodon clients. I dont think they are as good as the iOS ones, in general. Of course, this could just be my Apple-way bias, but switching between timelines and lists is way clunkier, for example.Megalodon is the one I like best so far. If you're on Android, what's your favourite app?

@NealBabcock @ezahn I've only been playing around for with them for a few minutes. I think Magalodons interface is more polished than tuskys, but it seems to be missing some features. I can't find any way to add someone to a list, for example.

@john I tried a bunch of the Android apps at the end of last year and settled on Tusky. I detest the icon, which necessarily has a prominent place on my homescreen. When I began with Tusky the icon was an abstract set of tusks, but then they "updated" it to a cutesy-pie smiling elephant. I use it daily nonetheless.

@john the new pre release of megalodon is my fav so far! Can't wait for a stable release of that. I really like Moshidon too (pretty much megalodon with some extra themes and features) and Trunks is still pretty early in development but the UI is reeeal nice. I say Moshidon for the most features or Tusky if you want something older and insanely stable. Tbh I can never pick just one so I have a whole folder of them on my home screen lol

@john @apps for Android. Only app I know that offers unlimited (?) timelines and lists, highly customizable. Only management of lists is still a bit problematic.

@john I've just started using @trunksapp and it's remarkably polished already. Bonus is that it's on both Android and iOS, plus has a web version. Same interface throughout is very helpful.

@john I'm on my 3rd app. I'm really not looking for much, it needs to remember where I was on the timeline and if the app needs to show a "load more" placeholder, it must pin the bottom post so I don't lose my place. None of the ones I've tried have passed these two criteria.

@ChrisManias timelines of accounts you choose to put on a list. I have a list for the Ukraine war for example, and Ivory let’s me also filter those accounts off my home timeline, so I only look at when I choose.

@john @EarlOfEdgecombe I've been using tusky for years and I do use lists. What do you see as an issue with tusky's lists? Back in the old days support was lacking, but on recent versions you can add a user to lists from their profile page, or from the list page, you can browse toots by list, and even add custom tabs for your favorite lists. I can't really think of anything else I'd need to do with lists but I'm curious what that is for you.

@john @tchambers M'y favorite one is @moshidon which allows adding lists and hashtags with slidding gestures between them, it's really handy and simple to use.
