       @tristansnell  This has to be the most idiotic and frankly airheaded take I have ever seen on this platform. The Communists were banned from running. Voters for the Social Democrats were hassled and harassed at the ballot box. Even with that in place, Hitler had to form a coalition with Zentrum and a couple of other parties to get 50+% of the seats in the Reichstag.There was no fucking vote splitting because it wasn’t even a fair election in the first place, you absolute spanner. This take is so bad that I actually think I got cancer from having to reply to you.

       @sidereal @tristansnell my favourite part of this take is that it is somehow meant to be a commentary on US third parties or something, except the comparison doesn’t work because Weimar Germany had a proportional voting system (so there’s no such thing as vote splitting) and Hitler still had to form a coalition. Sometimes the liberals on here have the takes that really show how bad US education is.

       @tristansnell i really like AOC's formulation: don't vote for a savior or a friend. Whoever wins is going to be your adversary. But this is the rare video game where you get to pick your opponent. If more people understood elections like that, they would look very different.
