Anyone here ever have appendicitis? What's your experience? What did it feel like. I think I might have it.

@KitchenBeats That's what I'm having. Started two nights ago near the end of my shift (work 12 hours overnight) then was gone when I woke up. Last night it started in the middle of my shift and was gone when I woke up. Tonight it started at the beginning of my shift.Pain isn't too severe but it got worse throughout the night last time.Trying to decide if I should go to the hospital now or wait for the morning.

@ShaMcGu @KitchenBeats mine escalted and never went down. It only got worse. It got to the point where I couldn't stand up straight. You might have a mild hernia. Do you do anything physical for work? It might be getting inflamed and then back to normal during rest.

@ShaMcGu If you think it is appendicitis you need to go to the hospital asap. Can be life threatening if it has ruptured

@TinyHouse4Life @ShaMcGu I agree. Go to the hospital sooner than later. A worse condition could be much more expensive, and life threatening. Better to find out it is nothing than letting it get too far. https://www.sepsis.org/sepsisand/appendicitis/

@CoramDeo @TinyHouse4Life Fortunately I live in a quasi-communist country so we have 'free' healthcare. I'll be there for at least 9 hours if I go right now but at least they don't swipe my credit card before they save my life.I'm going go. It's just a matter of running out my shift or going now in the middle of the night.

@ShaMcGu @TinyHouse4Life Good choice. I hope it's nothing. I've never once had to swipe a card for care here in the US. Can't say that's true for all hospitals, though. They will, however, send you a bill. âšī¸

@CoramDeo @TinyHouse4Life I was joking about swiping a card but you know what, it wouldn't surprise me if that happened somewhere in America.I remember watching "Bowling for Columbine" and that scene where Michael Moore goes to a Canadian emergency room and asks people how much their visit costs and they all respond with "Uuuuh.... I don't know....?"

@ShaMcGu @TinyHouse4Life I'm pretty sure you would just get blank stares here if you walked into the ER. Mostly becaue no one in there speaks english. It's funny, though, if you walk into the clinic at the one hospital here (sort of a low level ER for I'm sick but the Dr office is closed) you will get top notch care in a hurry. Go to the ER, in the same building, 100 feet away, and you are likely to die waiting in line. đ

@CoramDeo @TinyHouse4Life The clinics here are like lazy Thunderdome. They open the phone lines at, lets say 4:00PM and then they take calls until they've booked all the appointments from 6:00PM to 9:00PM.You can sit and hit redial for an hour then get a "Sorry, we're full" message. It's very frustrating.

@CoramDeo @ShaMcGu I like the urgent care better than the er too. Much better service and I can usually afford to pay the bill right on the spot.

@ShaMcGu With my dad the pain was a misdirection bc his gall bladder was leaking to a lower part of his body. By the time they identified the problem, his gall bladder was completely gone and they had to remove it, but in the meantime I think (my theory) that leakage did some internal damage... This is just my theory, but I think if he had the gall bladder removed earlier, the outcome would have been better.

@ShaMcGuWhat was the outcome. With appendicitis you know what it is most of the time. The pain moving from left to right over a few hours and being so sick you know what it feels like to be heading for death.
