       @IdahoLark Nice photo. Also I'm not a big fan of those creatures.Since moving to #Idaho in 2007, I've been told that rattlesnakes are all over the place in the back country. But in my experience, I haven't seen a lot of them and many of those hikes were off-trail.        @LabSpokane We were driving and she stayed in the car. She took a snake avoidance class and won’t get near them intentionally. Still, I leave her home when I hike the less-crowded foothills around Boise in the summer.

       @TimBondy I grew up playing in Boise’s lower foothills and never saw a rattlesnake until I floated the South Fork of the Boise in my early 20s. This is only the forth rattlesnake I’ve ever come across. Granted, I spent 24 years in snake-free Alaska, but I’m still surprised I haven’t encountered more of them.
