@BlueDouche the strictness of the Anabaptists is all up to the particular bishop. From what I've seen, they have the "English" do that sort of thing for them, but using a smartphone on a tractor is pretty ridiculous.

@BlueDouche We buy peaches from an Amish farm in northern Indiana. The peaches are tricked in from Michigan. A storm blew up while we were paying for the peaches, and my wife said “maybe we can wait it out before loading.” Amish girl whips out a smartphone and brings up the weather app to see how long the storm will last. Anecdotal

Some can use more technology than othersFor example the ones near me (Geauga County, Ohio) can use things like chain saws, mowers, etc) vs other groups in central Ohio cannot. The ones I know use the phone for work and things like being in contact while hunting etc but the phone is not used at home but left outside in a charging box) Wikipedia has a lit of information in the different sub groups https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amish
