       I never got invested in twitter before or even after the Musk takeover, so I can't empathize with those who act like he saved the platform. Anyone know what they're seeing? (even if it isn't true)

       @gabriel They're seeing a proliferation of right-wing hate-speech and disinformation, which is what they want to be on the platform without any restrictions. I do try to engage in good faith with people, but - pretty sure this one's exactly what it looks like.

       @gabriel I think it depends on what people wanted out of #Twitter in the first place. #Twitter has long been a left-wing echo chamber, which left a lot of people unhappy, and #ElonMusk's regime naturally led to the end of that era. As more right wing accounts began to get unbanned, I think a lot of people, myself included, presumed that #Twitter would enter a new era of free speech, and #ElonMusk's firings and cost cutting measures seemed to indicate that #Twitter would also enter a new era of being profitable, meaning that the platform would last longer. But then as time went on we began to see signs that some of those cuts were ill-thought or too severe, sacrificing performance for the sake of costs, and also it became apparent that rather than turning #Twitter into a free speech platform, he was turning it into a right wing echo chamber, so some people, such as I, have been increasingly disenchanted with  how he's been running things. But for others, who just wanted an echo chamber (or only cared about their own speech and not the speech of others), they're happy with the way that things are, especially since they're getting paid to make their posts now.Not all of #ElonMusk's changes have been bad, and I think he continues to make good ones, but he's not turning #Twitter into the platform I was hoping he would.

       @gabriel Yeah and these folks kinda exposed themselves but celebrating the censorship of, more recently, the word "cis" on the platform, as well as the pedophilia pride flag (which, while reprehensible, would still fall under the banner of free speech)
