Anyone have a clue as to how I could get this error trying to go to twitter while connected to a VPN that is located in Chicago? I was also on a tor browser at the same time, but they were different browsers.

@StaleDonut is it a paid or free vpn, and is it possibly routing your dns requests through another tunnel or to another DNS server to keep them unconnected both to your vpn tunnel and your personal machine?

@StaleDonut what vpn were you using. There are some shady vpn companies that offer "residential IPs" for use, when they are actually breached routers. Outside of that, no god damn clue.

@StaleDonut Some shady VPNs get residential IPs by sending your traffic through browser plugins or malware/adware on other people's computers. That's my guess as to what happened here, some kid installed a browser extension on a school computer.

@mutebird I connected to another vpn server and the error disappeared. I went back to the original where the issue was happening and it didn't happen anymore. Fucking strange.
