       OTD in 1963 Egon Bahr proposed “Wandel durch Handel” (change through trade) with authoritarian regimes so as to bring about positive political change. It’s been a brilliant success cos we’ve never invaded anyone and totally haven’t used the money on weapons.

       @DarthPutinKGB Well, IMHO it was a success. Despite all that money (what money?) the USSR couldn’t win in Afghanistan AND the East collapsed. Russia after let’s say 1998 is very different. So a different approach should have been applied…
