       Here's a deep cut related to the entertainment industry:If two writers are listed in the credits with their names connected by an ampersand, it means they wrote the script as a team. But if two writers names are connected by the word β€œand,” it means they worked on the script separately."Smith & Jones" has a different meaning from "Smith and Jones."https://www.wga.org/the-guild/about-us/faq#credits4

       @grammargirl And the sequence of names also tells you who worked on the script first and last.

       @grammargirl What do you write if A + B worked together, B + C worked separately, and C + A worked together?

       @grammargirl Interesting, because the Indian film industry chose the hyphen instead of the ampersand. Any popular duos - writers, composers, directors - are all joined by a hyphen. And first names only.It took me an embarrassingly long time after I heard their names to realise that Salim-Javed, Nadeem-Shravan, and Abbas-Mustan were SIX people, not three... :)
