Another day, another seemingly cool person I find on Fediverse that’s actually a huge chud. This time is special: his instance has a Soapbox frontend (fork of Gab’s UI, interesting origin story :blob3c:), plus he’s a tech YouTuber. A Threads bootlicker too, which is not surprising.Why are so many tech YouTubers and technobros the ultimate chuds? It’s a worrying trend. If you really think about it, shouldn’t the tech space be more inclusive? Who the fuck cares if someone behind the screen is gay or trans if they’re under a pseudonym anyway? Code is code, nerds are nerds, anything like gender, sexual orientation etc. shouldn’t even come into discussion. But I guess Musk pog keanu reeves reddit wholesome +100 karma so trans bad. Or crypto good because no gov regulation thus Twitter pog because of “free speech”?We need more left-wing (not even lefties since they probably won’t catch the attention of your average normies) video content creators (yes, libs are good too and not just in .so form). We need to contrabalance chuds like DistroTube (leaving this absolute gem right here), Mental Outlaw, Luke Smith, Root BSD (I’ll give him credit for making banger DnB mixes and good OpenBSD content) etc.

@freemo iirc he’s on Odysee: https://odysee.com/@DistroTube:2I think he was banned a couple of years ago from Mastodon (and imo rightfully so). He also had an attempt at his own instance through DistroToot (now permanently down). He’s now over at @ distrotube on fosstodon.org (I don’t want to tag him). Looks like he’s active too.

@alecui I was 100% with him right up until he said any state that doesnt allow conceal carry is a “communist” state… I mean, its an oppressive state, but has nothing to do with communism.
