@DK_Dharmaraj Alright, I've gotta throw the gauntlet down here: where the fuck are there trannies in the HBS Battletech game?I played that game for close to 100 hours when I had Covid and I never saw a single tranny character in the entire game, no gay shit of any kind in fact. Yes, the ship crew is a 90's liberalism Burger King Kids Club with like a Muslim woman, a black guy, an Asian chick and a fat dude with a robot leg. Whatever. These characters don't have voice actors and you can just skip through their dumb banter. But none of them are trannies, there's not even any throwaway dialog lines about gender or whatever.I'm writing this because this is like the 5th time I've heard "Oh, I TRIED to play Battletech but as soon as you turn it on there's TRANNIES EVERYWHERE!" It's total bullshit, just right wingers falling for fake screenshots and jumping on a fake outrage train.

Gaming systems and features from the 90s of being expanded upon have significantly regressed.1994 XCOM you could set up 6 bases and place them anywhere in the globe, rather than (2012) choose one continent and have a starting bonus. While you could put a base anywhere it was best to have it near most funding countries so it would be in Europe. If a funding country was giving less money, it was best to fly a sky ranger in the country and patrol in which you might discover an alien base or see more alien activity. (1994) XCOM missions were template generated for earth missions. If the troop transport got there at night, the mission would be at night, jungle, desert, forest, or winter depending on where the ufo landed or crashed in pursuit.How you set up the bases in XCOM (94) was important since if your base got invaded, it would look exactly the same if your base layout. Due to this it was important to have your base be a long hallway so less chance of being flanked from multiple directions. (2013) enemy within had a base defense, but it was a scripted map. 1994 XCOM was made by 2 brothers and 3 other guys from Microprose. While it would be nice, I don’t see AI in there next 5-10 years in gaming making advancements in gaming systems/ mechanics.

@BasedDojimaDragon the thing is you could make such a detailed complex game on a shoestring in 1994 because it was 2D and art direction was mostly pretty easy. Unity has solved some of those problems but it's still a huge issue especially if you want to make your own art style. I think the big impact of AI will be in drastically reducing art budgets especially for smaller games
