@kroner @mischievoustomato bruh, you shouldA lot of site that aren't big tech let you use RSS for everything. Store categories, fediverse user feed (or through nitter, but that's semi dead), anime search updates RSS, custom manga and LN updates if you sign up to novel updates, blogs, etc

@mischievoustomato Like what? Even "syncing" across devices is useless, as you can just import your feed everywhere else and at worse you just won't have synced progress, but that shouldn't be a problem for something that doesn't have 3 billions feeds and keeps adding

@coolboymew np, I remember disliking that UI change too. Protip: you can set the external browser to point to an executable script that'll be run when you double click on a feed (I use it to auto download nyaa torrents or open yt videos on mpv)

I self host tt-rss. It has an API so I can use it with their f-droid app. I did use liferea forever ago, but then I wanted something web hosted so I could sync what I've read or dismissed between home and work/multiple machines. tt-rss isn't great though .. I liked how simple liferea was. I did use RSSguard for a time since it could use the tt-rss API, but it's kinda buggy. :blobcatshrug:

huh, it has RSS? I've never used Owncloud/Nextcloud. I remember that, back in the day, it had data integrity issues (people lost files) but I guess those have been resolved?I use Radicale/DavX for calendars/contacts, Cryptpad for documents, Duplicity for backups and ... nothing for file sync (really less of an issue these days since I work from home)
